Ang maong Orientation gisugdan ganinang buntag diin gilaumang mahuman kini ugmang adlawa Biyernes Agosto baynte ning tuiga.

Sa duha ka adlaw nga orientation, tuyong mapasabot sa mga estudyante ang mga nagkadaiyang serbisyo sa tunghaan ug ang mga sumbanan sa pagpahigayon sa klase taliwa ning pandemya.

Sa unang adlaw, ipasabot sa mga estudyante ang Flexible Delivery of Student Affairs and Services sama sa Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, Gender and Development Program, University Services for Health, Emergency and Rescue. Lakip usab ang Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, Cash Division Electronic Transactions, ug mga palisiya sa tunghaan.

Sa ikaduhang adlaw, ipasabot ang e-Learning Environment sa tunghaan sama sa MyVSU Student Portal, Navigating the Instructional Materials for Remote Learning, Library Services, Turnitin, TPES Portal ug VSU Student Honor Pledge. Lakip usab ang Library Services, Customer Satisfaction Survey ug Student Helpdesk.

Gipahigayon kini alang sa tanang estudyante sa VSU System lakip na ang mga component colleges diin live kining gi-broadcast sa official Facebook Page sa VSU.

Nasayran nga ang maong onboarding seminar gipahigayon aron mapasabot sa mga estudyante ang mga pagabuhaton hilabi na kay ang VSU magpatuman na sa “flexible learning”. Kini usab resulta sa mga gibuhat nga mga preparasyon sa pagdumala sa klase taliwa sa gitawag nga New Normal.

Ubos sa New Normal, gilimitahan ang face-to-face mode of instruction o pisikal nga pagklase sa tunghaan. Dugang pa, mamahimong mapahigayon ang klase pinaagi sa “online learning” ug asynchronous learning gamit ang mga learning materials nga ipadala sa mga estudyante aron tun-an.

Si Dr. Gabrillo usa ka magtutudlo, tigpanuki-duki u glider sa VSU kinsa aduna nay kapin duha ka dekada nga kasinati-an sa natad sa development communication – ang karera nga iyang gipili sukad pa sa iyang bachelor’s degree hangtod na sa iyang doctorate degree. Nakuha ni Dr. Gabrillo ang iyang bachelor’s ug master’s degrees sa VSU samtang ang iyang Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree iyang nakuha sa University of the Philippine Los Baños (UPLB).

Sa pagsugod sa iyang karera sa akademya, nagtudlo si Gabrillo og mga broadcasting courses (pagsibya) sa mga undergraduate DevCom students, nagpahigayon og mga communication research ug extension projects ug nagsilbi isip program host ug announcer sa kanhi VSU Radio DYAC-AM, nga karon mao na ang VSU Radio DYDC-FM (usa ka public service ug extension broadcast facility sa VSU).

Samtang nagsugod ang karera ni Gabrillo isip usa ka lider dihang nahimo siyang Station Manager sa kanhi DYAC gikan 2006 hangtod 2009. Human niini, nakabaton usab siya og mas taas nga leadership roles sama sa VSU Open University, Multimedia Development Center (MMDC), ug VSU Printing Press.

Human makalampos ug mahimong EWC-APLP fellow, naghimo dayon si Gabrillo og usa ka project proposal diin gi-aprobahan kini ug gipondohan sa EWC. Kini mao ang paghimo og community radio drama kabahin sa disaster preparedness nga gilunsad niadtong Disyembre 2019.

Lakip sa iyang paghuman sa APLP sa 2019 mao ang nagpadayong School-on-the-Air (SOA) on visual arts for mental health and environment protection diin 120 ka mga junior ug senior high school students ug teachers sa Baybay City ug Southern Leyte Divisions and mingsalmot sa unom ka semana nga online classes. Gitan-aw nga mahuman ang maong proyekto sa Septembre 2021.
